Rose Veal: Nourishment You Can Trust
Author: Farmer Kelley
There is a quiet comfort that comes from knowing exactly where your food comes from.
Not wondering how it was raised.
Not questioning shortcuts or compromises.
Just a settled feeling when you cook, serve, and sit down to eat—especially at this stage of life, when what we put on our plates matters more than ever.
That sense of calm is at the heart of everything we do at Howling Flats Farm.
Rose veal differs from conventional veal in ways that feel important to me:
It’s raised longer, resulting in a deeper pink color
The flavor is more developed, while remaining naturally tender
Animal care and welfare are central—not secondary
The result is a protein that feels elevated and refined, yet deeply satisfying—food you can enjoy without heaviness or hesitation.
As women move into midlife, protein quality often matters more than quantity alone. This idea is echoed in Forever Strong, which explores how nutrient-dense protein supports muscle, metabolism, and long-term vitality. Rose veal offers tenderness that supports easier digestion, protein density that helps maintain strength, and a refined taste that lends itself to simple, elegant meals. It’s a luxury, yes—but one that serves health, not indulgence alone.
Alongside my Milk & Meadow rose veal, I’ll continue offering organic chicken from Bella Farm, as well as a limited supply of our pasture-raised pork. Each choice reflects the same values: transparency, respect for the animal, and care for the land that feeds us all.
To me, this is what nourishment looks like now.
Food that brings confidence.
Food that feels aligned.
Food you don’t have to second-guess.
Warmly,
Farmer Kelley
