Strong Enough for the Things I Love
Author: Farmer Kelley
It’s the autumnal equinox, which means we are officially in the berrrrr months.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed how much my body responds to the changing daylight. We sleep a little later in the mornings, and I have to catch myself before deciding 7 p.m. sounds like a perfectly reasonable bedtime.
And if you’ve been following along, I’m very happy to report that Murphy has been sleeping through the night for the past week!
The change in season affects my appetite too.
I could happily live on burgers and salmon all summer, but as soon as fall arrives, it’s like someone flips a switch. Suddenly I’m craving slow-cooked chicken broth, beef short ribs, pulled pork, and plenty of healthy fats that satisfy that instinct to slow down and hunker in.
I’m not much of a pumpkin spice kind of gal, but I do look forward to one fall tradition: giving the animals all of the leftover holiday pumpkins.
They definitely don’t complain.
What are your go-to fall cravings?
Warmly,
Farmer Kelley
